Activities

NYP offers a variety of events and gatherings every month for young professionals to explore Tallahassee and meet its residents in a casual atmosphere.

Don’t know where to start? How about attending one of our monthly 535 Happy Hours, held the first Wednesday of each month at a hip local venue. All you need to do is show up—there is no cover and these happy hours are open to everyone, whether or not you are a paid member. You have no excuse to say you don’t know where to meet anyone your age, because every month we provide an opportunity to do so!

Have ideas for future NYP events, or want to help with planning and executing those activities? Join our Events Committee. We are always looking for fun, fresh ideas that would interest our members. 535 Happy Hour
The first Wednesday of each month, NYP members and other young professionals visit local restaurants and bars around Tallahassee.  This informal meeting is an opportunity for professional and social networking in a casual atmosphere.  There is NO cover charge.  Stop by after work with your colleagues and friends. How To…
How To sessions are offered to teach young professionals interesting and entertaining skills.  For example, past How To:’s have included How To…make sushi, financially plan for the future, etc.
Get Informed
Get Informed sessions educate young professionals about hot topics on both local, state and national levels.  Some topics explored in the past were the proposed coal plant, the proposed performing arts center, home buying, Tallahassee’s real estate market, the health care tax referendum, and the Master Craftsman Studio.
Connect YP
NYP partners with United Way of the Big Bend’s For Young Leaders Only for this quarterly luncheon series focusing on why young professionals live, work, play and stay in Tallahassee.
Hometown Hoedown
The Hometown Hoedown is NYP’s annual event held in January at the Tallahassee Museum. The event, which benefits the museum, features live music, nighttime tours of the museum, a bonfire, southern food and cold drinks. It’s a night of food, drinks, networking and fun!
Cornhole Classic
We kicked off our first-ever NYP Cornhole Classic this spring, and it’s sure to become one of our most exciting and fun annual events. Held at Po’Boys Downtown, the evening featured live music, drinks and of course, a cornhole tournament!
